Biography

Yunfan Chen is a Research Associate in the Analytical Development group at Sanofi’s mRNA Center of Excellence in Waltham, Massachusetts. She holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Studio Arts from the College of the Holy Cross. Her work focuses on developing and optimizing analytical methods to support mRNA drug substance process development, with expertise in ion-pair reversed-phase liquid chromatography, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and oligonucleotide analysis. Prior to joining Sanofi, Yunfan held research roles at Selecta Biosciences and Yoh, where she contributed to nanoparticle formulation, lipid-mRNA characterization, and analytical method execution. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, including The Journal of Physical Chemistry C and Chem Catalysis. Her current work supports impurity profiling and method qualification for mRNA-based therapeutics.
